Native American Comparison Project
We've spent the last six weeks studying the geography of the United States and learning all about the early Americans who first lived here. Groups of students studied a tribe from one of the seven cultural regions. For this final project, the students were assigned the role of realtor and were given the task of finding a new home for their tribe. After having learned about where their tribe came from and how they lived, they had to learn about the land, climate, and resources of the new region. They were asked to determine what skills the tribe had that would be useful in the move and what adaptations they would have to make in order to survive in the new region. Here is what they learned.
